PADI has over 25,000 instructors in the world, each year issues about over 500,000 diving licenses, which allows the PADI to become the world's largest diving training agency.

PADI trains its own diving instructors and instructor visa officer around the world, and provides certification to the instructor's dive shop and diving club, certified dive shops and clubs will be authorized by PADI and become PADI diving center, which gives grade training and assessment to the students according to the teaching standard of PADI and standard courseware, issues the PADI diver grade certificate. The PADI Dive Center certified dive shop or diving club is often considered to be an appropriate training place with a considerable number of diving equipments, can provide training courses with PADI standard, at the same time, diving center also has the conditions for diving equipment sales and maintenance and can provide more professional service for students.

PADI training course is not only continuously improved to meet the needs of divers, but also includes the modified and updated diving activities in the training course. Besides, the A.W.A.R.E marine environmental protection long-term plan initiated by PADI not only teaches divers to pay attention to the environmental protection, but also trains divers to be responsible. All the training course of PADI have the same exacting standards around the world, which is the biggest advantage of the PADI training system, no matter where the diver gets training, the skills and theories learned are the same, the only difference is the learning environment.
